Megan // 2013 Senior

A couple weeks ago I got a Facebook message from a Megan asking if I'd be willing to take her senior portraits. Less than a week later we found ourselves at the town center and trail area that was just perfect for the pictures she wanted. She totally rocks the natural poses and is the only person I've met so far that doesn't actually end up smiling when I ask for a straight face! Hahaha!

I first met Megan three years ago, at a our homeschool co-op, and now she'll be graduating this spring. Time sure has flown by! I have lots of good memories of the lunches we spent walking around outside and all of the teen events and swing dances we went to. She's a fun girl to hang around with!

Portrait Practice

Sarah and Cristina willingly agreed to model for me on a spur the moment portrait session we did while they were over one day. I'd been wanting to practice taking portraits at a wide aperture and they were at the right place at the right time. :)

It was early in the evening, so the sun was low and there was lots of open shade, my favorite type of lighting.

Ohanapecosh // Camping 2012

This years camping trip was at Mt. Rainier again, just a the Ohanapecosh campground instead. Only one family went with us and we booked sites right next to each other. The sites were next to a creek, which was lots of fun to play in. We would also set our chairs in the water and sit and enjoy the creek.



Our first dinner was hot dogs roasted over the fire. They taste much better fire roasted! Plus they were fun to cook!



Since we were just at Mt. Rainier last year, we didn't go to Paradise or go to view the mountain. We stayed at our campground the whole trip. There is a hiking trail that starts and ends in the campground and takes you up to the falls.

Daniel's Junior Ranger patch. He was the only one who did the Junior Ranger Program, since all of us girls had done it in 2006.




My perfectly toasted marshmallow. Roasting marshmallows is one of my favorite things to do camping.



Daniel caught this frog, which stayed in his hands just long enough for me to get one picture. Then he jumped out of his hands.




On our last day we walked around the campsite looking for a place to walk down to the river. We found this neat area with lots of rocks to sit on and just enjoyed the river for a while.




And that was our trip! We all had a great time and we were sad to leave. Us kids all had fun playing card games, going on walks in the dark of night, talking about cave deer, and chatting around the campfire. I had a wonderful time.

Donald & Sarah // Married

My dear friend Sarah and her now husband Donald were married in the beginning of June. Sarah offered for me to be one of the photographers and I accepted . We've been friends for about 10 or 11 years now and have done many different things together, so I greatly enjoying being able to be a part of her special day. Thank you so much Sarah for letting me be your photographer!

After spending 8+ hours at the wedding venue, I was worn out! There was so much that I learned about photographing a wedding and now fully understand how much work it is. There are quite a few things I would do next time, but I'm sill very happy with the photos I captured for them.

The bride and her bridesmaids had several hours to do their hair and makeup before taking the bridal party photos.

They chose to do all of the portraits before the ceremony, so we had a couple hours to take all sorts of fun photos.

The other photographer took the pictures of the Groom with the groomsmen while I did the Bride and the bridesmaids. Afterwards we both got pictures of the whole bridal party. When the sun came out, everyone was blinded!

The venue was lovely and had lots of wonderful places for photos. One of my favorites was this bridge with the creek running through.








And the ceremony begins! One of the flower girls got a little scared at the top of the isle and froze. Here we have the bride trying to encourage her to throw the petals.

The ceremony was short and sweet. I thought it was perfect.

The ceremony and the reception locations were at the same venue. All the guests made there way to the reception area were there was lots of delicious food.





Instead of cake they served cake pops. Each color is a different flavor and they were all homemade.

Sarah loves Coca-Cola, so the toastes were made with glass bottles of coke.


They're first dance as husband and wife.
