I Heart Faces - Anything But a Face

Things are a bit different at I Heart Faces this week, since our photo cannot have a face in it. I decided on this photo of my brother Daniel and my dad. It's back from October, when my family went on a hike one Saturday. Daniel and my dad had gone down to look at the creek, and I snapped this shot as they were making their way back to the trail. I love the blur, giving it the feel of motion and the angle it was taken from.

With all the cold, wet, stormy, and even snowy days we've had lately, I'm really looking forward for spring.

Yesterday our family went for a walk and we passed by this pond with a whole bunch of ducks. Some of the ducks didn't let me get too close, but these two did. And for some odd reason, while I was busy snapping pictures of these two, I called them penguins...

Wednesday in my photography class that I'm taking at our homeschool co-op, we went outside to take some photos with the lighting coming from different angles (front lit, side lit, backbit, etc.). Abby and I took turns photographing each other in the different lighting.

I usually only post one photo for Project 52, but I had to share two photos this week, since I couldn't decide which I liked better.

While at the craft store the other day, I found these cute little bird figurines. They were only a couple dollars, so I bought two of them. All the bright and cheerful colors in this shot make me wish it was spring.

An Unexpected Treasure

I love it when you take a photo, just to test the lighting, settings, etc. and you end up with something you really like. Little surprises like that are fun.
